Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Tim (grievous) on 6th Mar 08 at 12:54am
It mite be Ross working on something.

(He mite be invisible)

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Dylan (dylan) on 6th Mar 08 at 12:54am
It will happen for everyone that views support as it's a server side error, and i beleive it should only be on support because support runs a different copy of the software than other boards.

TEST

I don't seem to be getting this error; is it still occurring?

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Tim (grievous) on 6th Mar 08 at 1:08am
Ya.

You can't see it on VFS main page?

Yes both in the same places.

EDIT: I put this in the url field, and it still shows the same thing.

http://support.virtualforums.co.uk/home/virtualf/public_html/beta/includes/build_board.php

Plus this:
http://support.virtualforums.co.uk/NOHEADER1

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Marc (cr0w) on 6th Mar 08 at 1:15am
This seems like it could just be something affecting members, as I'm not seeing it. I'll see if I can't duplicate the error.

the /home/public_html/beta/includes/build_board.php is the lcoation to the file relative to the server not the URL. So that won't affect anything.

I've gone ahead and notified Ross. He'll [hopefully] get my message and solve the problem shortly. {Smile}

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 6th Mar 08 at 1:16am
Oh ok I see.

EDIT: lol {Cheesy} waddya know, Ross gets off, and all goes crazy LMOA.

Sorry about double posting but it also won't let me edit my post {Unsure}

Guest's can see it to.

EDIT: It seems as if every post before this that I made can't be edited but this one can {Confused}

Yep, that's how I saw the error; I logged out for a moment. {Wink}

If you could all please just leave those two boards alone until this problem is solved so that Ross can see it, it'd be appreciated. {Smile}

Was there really any point to that post o_o

It's getting quite annoying seeing a big box full of a bunch of errors now {Tongue Out} Hopefully Ross didn't already go to sleep.

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 6th Mar 08 at 1:21am
Lock the 2 boards {Tongue Out} so people don't post in it for a bit.

He has work in the morning, and it's 1:30am there, so I think he might have.

Unfortunately I can't do anything about this; not even hide the errors for the time being, so it seems as though we'll have to wait for Ross to wake up. {Unsure}

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By tricky.cb (crazyblue) on 6th Mar 08 at 1:23am
That's one of the only problems with having only one person who can maintain errors. I vote for a global moderator! {Tongue Out} Maybe we could find Ross's phone number and call him {Tongue Out}

I've gone ahead and put a message in the Forum News so that members can see; that's the best I can do at the moment.

I've sent Ross a text message; unfortunately that's the quickest way I can get this problem solved.

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Tim (grievous) on 6th Mar 08 at 1:32am
I had been wondering if this forum would have any Global mods, but now there is proof that a G-mod is really needed.

I vote Marc or Wrighty.

Ross is aware of this error; it will be fixed soon. {Smile}

However, let's please just keep this thread related to the bug at hand.

I'll leave this thread open for another little while to see if anyone else still sees errors.

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Ross (admin) on 6th Mar 08 at 9:35am
Last night I only patched the error. This morning I've done my best to properly fix it so hopefully it won't happen again {Smile}

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 6th Mar 08 at 8:07pm
Why did it do that?

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Ross (admin) on 6th Mar 08 at 8:58pm
Marc made a post in the staff board at the exact same time as someone posted in code requests. That caused the code requests board to think that crows post was the last one made. But as normal members don't have access to the staff board it got confused as to what post it should show. I think that's the simplest terms I can explain it in {Tongue Out}

Re: Support forum, weird :-/ - Posted By Tim (grievous) on 7th Mar 08 at 2:17am
Thats funny, confused server.

Sounds like it got it's head cut off and ran around dumbfounded.
