There has to be SOMETHING that isn't right with it.

Yes, Sven, the smilies.
and the icons....
and the red is to dark or something.

And suggestions to improve all of it?

I cannot really say anything besides Superb, because I am in Awe, its a great skin, Far more better then My Mage Designs, and far better then the ones I have seen. (Not just designing forums, but a whole lot of others)

You have allot of members, that should say something.

You got 17 members and over 600 posts and only 105 topics, far better then I have ever seen. Look at my forum Forbidden Reunion for instance. its sorta died out, and it has:

I used to get about 10 members on each day and my other 3 staff members got on. For right now I am letting it die off because of school and what not. I know how hard it can be for every one to have loads of homework, and school, and plus their jobs, so thats why I am letting it go for now. But you, you have it all. Later on I might join, I am building a new forum, and I am not even going to release it for awhile, so I can work out all the coding bugs, and what not.

The smilies need more depth, and the folders need to be slightly bigger.

All smilies don't have to be 3D, I like them because AV is a recreation of what designing forums used to look like, back when I was a hardcore designer

The folders could be bigger I guess, some of the images when I made them were quite small - however, you have to remember that this has to cover all resolutions, which for some 16x16 which is the size of the folder icons is quite significant, so yea

I am in 1280x800 res and it looks just fine for me

1280x800 is large It's designed to fit the universal standard of 1024x768

(I made them on my 1280x1024 res monitor and they looked fine too)

On my laptop 1024x768 is rather large, and smaller, meaning there is no room. its a 15 inch monitor. but on my moms desktop, 1024x768 looks really good, and its a 17 inch monitor.

I checked 3 resolutions (800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024) and still think that the folder icons could be a tad bit bigger.

Anyways, the banner is nice not something exciting but does it's job very well. The on/off icons are pretty cool with the forum initials connected. Content has a lot of originally in it like for example the rank names are brilliant. The minimalistic approach, I like. Also, the fact that this is a red and black color scheme (never see those anymore, eh?) is plus from me.

However there's some things I think could be fixed though. Like for example the emoticons. It lacks depth and some of their expressions aren't clearly visible. Like for example what is this emoticon doing?

And lastly, I think the color scheme could use some more contrast. So like maybe lighten up the red a bit.

haha, not really, I know my emotes suck balls - but, whats done is done, they will be updated eventually, I have more important things on my plate at the moment, the contrasting idea of the brighter reds is something to try, the smilies will definetly be a lighter colour, they are too dark now.

It's a great forum. Atleast you didn't use a premade skin. It's awesome. I just think you should make the menu buttons rollover. It will look better. But this is just my opinion.

And I'm a graphics designer, why would I use a premade? That'd just be silly lol.

Oh Well, i gave it a try.

I love this skin. I just think that the smilies aren't that good. You can't really tell what emotion that is unless you look at it very closely. I give it a 9/10 on the skin.

Why'd you do that Sven?

If you wnat my opinion, its way to dark, your using dark colors and a dark background which is something you should never do, just like using light colors on a light background unless you know what you are doing. I would suggest sticking with your dark background because it looks good on the site, but lightening the hues off all the text by about two to three shades sop it is easier to read and I should be fine, but other then that I see nothing else wrong at a quick glance, except maybe the doing something to those things at the top of the forum, that look like a count down for something. Other then that I give the site a 6/10

I think Canada should make a new Topic for Sarah Chronicles.
