Mage Designs Banner - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 16th Nov 08 at 8:33pm
So I went and made a new banner for Mage Designs.
Also now that I now have an actual Mage image I can now have it as my logo image.

When doing the reflection, use a gradient on the reflection part going from the background colour to transparent, will look much nicer

I did for the text, but for the Mage, I could not, as it would look all covered up, and you could not see it. The image would still be there, but the picture would be covered up by the gradient.
That's why I did not do it for the Mage.

The trick is to remove layer effects on the reflection layer - rasterise the text - then apply a layer mask on it = then use the black to white gradient to create a graded opacity for the reflection. For the non-text reflection layer - you just need to skip the rasterize step. Rest is common.
