1st one
Its really too simple. The gradients are way too small and the colors are makes the category text unreadable. I think you should have the gradients from your second one. I would remove the category text boarder and gradient and put a simple bold font on it. The BG could use some patterns (search one at deviant art), which spice it up imo. I like the 3 square pics of the game, gives it a artistic feel to it. The text on the banner is not really good. imo


2nd one

Again simple but a bit better than the first but still lacks detail. To be honest it looks like you just put some text over a purple background. Put something more to spice it up, or look at web layouts at deviant art for inspiration.

First one was meant to be simple. Just a little extra other than a forum which most clans have. As for the text, it's getting coded and will be fixed.

My portfolio is again, simple. More to focus on my work than the website itself. But I can see what you mean.
