If Google made a free operating system all of a sudden, would you try it out?
I'd put it on a test box, just because it's Google. Every other product they've made, I've found to be useful and well done.
So yes, I'd try it, but I wouldn't commit to anything until after a week or so of testing it.

I'd only try it myself if I can install it on my system without removing Microsoft.

Pretty much my views. I wouldn't commit to having as my OS unless i've tried it for a while and seen if it's worth the bother of changing. I'm reasonably happy with XP, but if someone came along with a Mac then i'd take thatAs for what Google could give that Apple and MS have given us already would be interesting!
I would install it. Use it? Most likely not.
I would instantaneously switch![]()
I wouldn't even install it for atleast a year bare minimum because of bugs, and compatability issues.
Dylan does have a point. But doesn't google go under extensive testing just to get out of BETA? GMail is still in BETA mode. So I probably would try it after BETA. I am really curious how Google would do an operating system, but I bet it would be worth it. Google has really unique ideas.
If it's free, why not?
Maybe.
It would depend on how it was and how it looked. I'm happy with my current operating system, so it would have to offer something amazing that would make it worth it to switch.
Of course I wouldn't try an operating system that was made "all of a sudden". I would, however, try one that they had worked on for months on end, possibly longer.![]()
