Preferred Operating System - Posted By slip (slip) on 13th Jan 08 at 12:12pm
I Smiley both Windows XP (been using for years) and Mac OS 10.4 Tiger (use at work). Wanna try Leopard soon. Already experimented with Vista - not bad but could be much better.

I'm a Vista boy! I have been using it for about 10 months now and I have had no problems with it {Smile}

Windows XP and Vista. Though they are good and all, but I think they did the best with Windows 95 and 98 because of how "devoted" they were to fixing errors instead of making new features like they do with XP and Vista.

I don't care what you guys say, you all love Mac, everyone brags about it and Linux, I'm sure they're good, but I say get over it. The world is addicted to Microsoft, their user numbers are still climbing. They are here to stay and the future. Every business I been to, school, etc, all used Windows. Sometimes they had Mac just for the computer classes.

Windows XP... I'll wait a bit more for Vista because it still might contain lots of bugs.

It depends on where i am - at home all the machines use XP, but if i'm at my girlfriend's house then she runs Vista off her laptop. I'm possibly getting a Mac at some point (i know a couple of people who might be able to get a cheap one) which would rock muchly {Cheesy}

It all depends on what I need to do. Vista for general computer use; Linux for working on my firewall software. {Smile}

I don't really have a "preferred" operating system. I would be equally happy with OS10, Linux, or Windows. I use mostly XP right now, for no good reason, so I put that down.

I wish I had Vista, but I have XP.

I wouldn't mind a Mac, I've never had one and it seems that they're not too bad.

I use XP. Still haven't gotten vista. Though I like 2003 MS Office better than 2007 MS Office.

I can't program in Windows anymore. Can't.

I end up booting into Linux 98% of the time.

Xp and Vista are half and half, as I like my XP, but soon I will be getting a laptop that has Vista on it, I will be upgrading it later on about 269 from Vista Home premium to Vista Ultimate. Which is Premium and Business together. Very fast, very powerful.

I wouldn't say that the world is "addicted" - most places use Microsoft as it's widely used so there's no point in training somebody to use a new thing when they can use a system everyone is familiar with. Ask 10 office workers and i'd be sure that they could all navigate and use ZP without a problem, but perhaps only one or two would be able to work properly on a Mac.

Outside of the IT world (and yes i'm generalising here) i don't think all that many people even knew about Apple until the iPod was released, and even now i've spoken to some people who haven't realised that they even do computers {Unsure} A few years back Microsoft was pretty much the easiest thing to get hold of, and was a lot more affordable.

Meh, this was poorly worded..i've not long woken up {Tongue Out}

I have Windows Vista.

I also have computers with XP as their operating system, but I use Vista the most. I have no problems with it, anything. I love it.
