I use Internet Explorer and Safari on a regular basis. I do often use Opera. But every once in a while I will use Firefox. Opera is probably my favorite browser, but I hate a lot of the keyboard shortcuts are not supported. Like to get to the Address Bar instead of ALT + D you have to press F2.

I do love that Opera was the first browser to support PNG (hell they developed part of the web software for it), first and only browser to meet every web standard set by w3, and much more. Their support team is friendly and amazing as well. Their security flaws, last time I check was 0. =D

People lie all the time saying Firefox was the first to have PNG, Firefox is the most secure, etc. Those are all untrue. Yes Firefox is more secure then Internet Explorer, but isn't the most secure, they do have a large number of security flaws compared to the other browsers of a standing nature.

Internet Explorer, sadly, it seems the fastest and opening for me, and I am impatient a lot. Internet Explorer, after talking to TedErnst of AboutUs.org, my thoughts were correct, is the most popular browser. 73% of the users in the last year on AboutUs.org used IE. Sorry folks, as much as you want to bash Microsoft you're stuck with it. They already took over the world and are here to stay.

Safari 3 is amazing. The look is clean. The only downside of it I have is of "larger" pages it can freeze now and then. Also when I download it doesn't give a confirmation "Open" or "Save to Disk" option. It automatically saves. What if I don't want it saved on my desktop? What if every other file has a different location I want it to be saved at? Apple did a pretty good job.

Netscape, I wish was still around. AOL bought them out and they officially dropped support. Netscape had potential in my opinion to be like how "Firefox" is extorted. But they were bought out by Time Warner, so not much to say. Another project "hushed" by the big man. And don't forget, Netscape created JavaScript {Wink}

But overall favorite? I don't have one. Browsers are nice, but you know everyone is going to crawl back to Internet Explorer or Safari for coding, or other reasons.

Wow, quite a write up! {Shocked}

For pretty much most things i use Firefox - i'm happy with what it can do and i've now got it customised eactly how i want it. I got Opera recently and i'm rather impressed with it, very similar in terms to FF (or FF is similar to Opera, i'm not getting into that argument {Tongue Out} ). I very rarely use IE, unless it's to check emails (if there's a way to bypass that and allow it to open up in FF, let me know {Wink} ) and, i've tried to like it, but especially with IE7 i loathe the layout of it.

Safari - it's not too bad, but the version i have just doesn't wow me like i was hoping it would {Sad} FF gets my vote, methinks {Smile}

I love Safari and FF (Safari gmv), but use Netscape for technical purposes

Quality over quantity is what I target for. {Wink}

I have to say Opera's greatest move was removing the advertisements from their browser. Have you used the speeddial feature? That is amazing, but sadly they have 'Yahoo Search' wish it was 'Google Search'. Hell I'd even settle for 'Live Search'. I don't like Yahoo search at all.

Hmm...to think of it LYNX is a good browser as well for text viewing only. SEO text browser is close as well. The idea behind these browsers, today are good, it's what search engines sees, so the text at the top usually is grabbed first right? What about mobile users? The text browser makes that easier to figure out.

NeoBrowser, I hated it. I used it just because SciFi supported it and had custom "SciFi" themes for it. The themes were awesome, but the browser was slow, laggy and a problem loading JavaScript and Flash and Java. It crashed all the time. The speed on simple things like Google, etc was AMAZING.

Konquerer, I was never able to get that damn thing installed. So oh well, guess that's off my list.

Browsers, how I love thee. Sometimes I wish there was one really good one we all can settle on. The browser war will go on forever. {Sad} But the reason we like this browser over that browser is because of "custom features" they all have. They all go "screw web standards" and go "fancy features will steal more IE users!"

So yeah...

Opera! I don't like FF and IE

Re: What is your favorite browser? - Posted By Marc (cr0w) on 11th Jan 08 at 4:38am
I use FF because Opera seems to freeze a lot on my computer, and because IE refuses to support any standard that it did not set itself, thus it cannot parse well.
