This one isn't mine, it's written by a friend of mine Stu. It's one i really like and in some ways, can relate to.
I've been to hell and back in the depths of my own mind,
but I have been so high that I left paradise behind,
I've seen the angels so bright as I've stumbled through my dreams,
but I've often slipped into the pit where I've heard those devils scream.
Ive travelled the desert so dry where Ive been choked and blinded by sand,
but i've walked through the ancient woods of a green and pleasant land,
i've been burned by the flames so intesne of the blazing eastern sun
but I've been soothed by the waters so blue of the pure and limitless ocean.
I've searched in the mountains for truth and let their solitude cleanse my soul,
and I've walked through the valley of shame when I've lost all self-control,
I quenched my thirst at the fountain of youth so that I may never grow old,
but I came by the fountain too late and the damage was already done.
I used to be a poet, man, I used to be a bard,
I used to be a man who walked the earth with his guitar,
I wandered through the desert night and I slept beneath the stars,
I sang my songs to the lonely skies and I drank in empty bars.
Iplayed poker with the devil and he tried to call my bluff,
but the devil didn't know me then, I was made of stronger stuff.
I swallowed down my whiskey, I could see he'd had enough,
and then he slipped under the table, man the devil ain't so tough.
But now I sit here, an old man, my best years are all long gone
and all I have is this old guitar and my lonely cowboy songs.
I drink, and play with the memories of the time when i was young
as my life fades with the twilight and the setting of the sun.
And there are tears in my eyes now but I smile as I brush them away
and pray to god the purple dawn will bring another day.
For I know that it's now almost over and my time will surely soon come -
they'll lay my poor bones down to rest in the sand,
and then this old man will be gone.

With an explosion of burnt orange,
butterflies dance into the sky,
causing a midnight blue splash against the air.
The stars begin to twinkle, and a rush of sea hits the jagged cliffs that is home for a light house.
I take a blink and realize I am just staring into your eyes.
Do You See It?
Do you see what I see?
Do you see the lavish green?
Do you see the majestic blue?
Do see the hue?
That endless blending.
That endless view.
The colors, expanding.
Do you see them?
Can you see them?
That endless color.
That endless hue.
You can see it now?
You can see the beautiful hue?
Isn't it a fantastic view?
Look at the color.
Look at the blend.
All that is left,
Is to say, "I love you."
Sea of White
The sea of pure white.
Drifting along.
Slowly, molding, moving.
Traveling distances faster then thought possible.
Reaching places thought impossible.
Slowly it starts to fall, creating a new sea of white.
Slowly, the snow comes from the clouds to the ground below.
The sea of white, the sea of snow.
Markings of despair. Markings of endless graves.
The sea that claimed so many.
The sea of endless charm, mystery.
The sea of snow, slowly taking, slowly giving.
That lovely Sea of White.
