Doctors >.> - Posted By Michael (wrighty) on 14th Jan 10 at 9:17am
So I rang the doctor this morning at about 8.30am to book an appointment.

"Hai, can I has appointment pl0x?"
"Sure, I has 2 tomorrow nub"
"lolwut? None todai? This be emergencies!"
"No tomorrow, 10, or 10.30 am."
"Guess I'll take the 10am"
"Ring today after 12pm and we'll see if we have a cancellation today for you."
"Er, whut?"
"Thank you, bye."

So supposedly if I ring on the day, then I can't get an appointment for something that to be honest is rather emergency like. What's more, I can ring at midday to get an appointment for today if there's a cancellation. Surely they should keep some appointments free for sodding emergencies.

And no, it's not that bad that I need to go to hospital. But seriously, this is why I never go to the doctors! >.<

Gah.

Anyone else hate doctors/dentists/medical persons? {Tongue Out}

I've grown up in Hospitals, around doctors and nurses, so I'm not bothered by them.

yea so was i {Unsure} all of then i was around are idiots... talking was more important then actually helping the person.. and they loved to guess at what was wrong and always made things worse. At one point the thing that was called the hospital had so many law suits that its not a hospital anymore, its a medical center now.

Doctors saved my life on several occasions.

They found out I had a disease which they previously thought only effected asians.

They found out of a lifelong medical illness I have, and had to do several surgeries.

It is just the family doctors/general doctors you have to go to that suck ><'

No, i'm talking every where i've been on the west coast sucks {Unsure} they care more about filling their wallets instead of helping their patients. I've been to doctors in all parts of oregon, washington, as well as california, and they all have no idea why i get extremely sick like i do. Most of the time the meds they put me on only make me worse... And that list of doctors does include family doctors, hospitals, as well as specialists {Unsure}

Wow. Did you go to the hard to get into/more known ones such as Childrens Hospital, Madera or University of San Fran? Or even UCLA or Oxford? These are the doctors that I've been seeing my entire life. My cardiologist was also named doctor of the year in 2002. I never been to Oregon or Washington. Family stayed in California when they were offered jobs out of it, cause of me.

(I do want to go to Portland one day just to see the city!)

Ok about the Portland comment, don't it sucks LOL

anyways I went to anyways i was referred, after a while i got tired of keeping track of the places, i've been to tree along just the northern part of cali, not to far into it. Most of them have been in oregon and washington. Never and i mean never go to the hospital in Hermiston, OR, or in Pendleton, OR. They are more likely to sit back talking while watching you die then trying to help you... One time i had blood draining out my ears for 4 hours, i was dehydrated, and the doctors at the hermiston hospital didn't even both to check on me once.. my mom got sick of it and drove me to a hospital 3 hours away. If that gives you an idea on what kind of doctors I grow up around..

I've seen a few times where that's happened. they talk more than work, but in the end, they almost always come up with the answer. Well, I can speak on behalf of the doctors when I say it's always interesting and/or fun when it's hard to find a diagnosis. So long as they do their job AND be interested, there isn't a problem.
