I should really try and cut down on the number of items on my desktop, but I never feel comfortable removing any of it.
D: Looks amazing! I miss Ubuntu! My computer wont allow it anymore. . . Something to do with the mother board, it does the same thing to windows, but it processes it. In Ubuntu when selecting a language, the timer freezes if you press enter, and if you let the timer go, it goes to a blank screen and wont go any further, thus I am stuck on windows for the time being. . . I need a new computer anyways.
That is a very strange error. Sounds like an upgrade might be the only solution to the problem, unfortunately.
I recently had a very scary upgrade cycle where my keyboard and mouse stopped working. Took me a day of frantic troubleshooting, and with a final paper due that week in my English class. Over the summer, I'm definitely installing a backup OS partition so I don't get burned like that again.

Nice background, Tim, but that's a rather small screen to be Photoshopping on, isn't it?

Not necessarily. I wasn't aware there was a requirement

You all wish yours were that customized.
Oh go stick it where the sun cant reach!

Yes it's windows! -_- Oh how I envy you Ubuntu users...
How I wish I had Ubuntu again, the awesome DIY customization, turning a seamless free desktop into what looks like a $1200+ laptop. (OS X leopard)

You can have it again in an hour or so.
aha, I already have 2 cd's. But my computer hates linux for some reason.
Well it hates windows as well, but it lets it install it. When I try to go to the setup screen, it freezes at the language selection. I do not know how to explain it, as I have already tried to explain it to everyone, but everyone says my computer is not broken... I beg to differ. But they are not physically here to see what it does... I'll take a video of it later. So, yeah. No Ubuntu for me til I get a new computer.
Since my desktop has changed, and Frufru's curious to see what Lucid Lynx looks like, here's a new screenshot:

What's the difference? It looks like Ubuntu?

I am not a fan of the new color scheme for Ubuntu. I happened to belong to the minority that found the brown aesthetically pleasing.
Not that it makes much of a difference since I don't use the default themes anyway.
This is what I had for my theme: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ofqWS815dOE/R2ddZ1mACGI/AAAAAAAAAP o/RznRbJdB4MY/s1600/PCWizKids_ Ubuntu.png
But mine was way shinier looking, and better looking too. I miss the good old days where it was all free! Though I did get win7 free from a friend anyways for Christmas. XD
Gahh, Docky! I miss that program; time to download it again.
I had a different dock, though I cannot remember what dock it was.
I loved how only small ammount of RAM were being used.
Nice background, Tim, but that's a rather small screen to be Photoshopping on, isn't it?
It works fine for me.
In the middle of some 'proper' designing, even cracking out InDesign
I figured I'd post my work desktop, since it's fantastic. I have multiple monitors, but they all look similar, so I only took a screenshot of one.

All I have to say is wow... Normally people hide those before posting that on the net.. o.O
Here is mine: http://www.mirrorimg.net/images/lhx.jpeg Probably gonna upgrade to Windows 7 Enterprise, but not sure if I want to yet or not. I don't feel like re-installing all my programs.
