What exactly is the difference between Windows Vista 64 and or 32 Bit?

I am thinking of buying an HP Pavilon laptop (It comes with 4 gigs of ram; 500 gb SATA hard drive, bluray rom, 17" screen; 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT card, Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1 64 bit; and an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6400 2.0 GHz)
