Windows XP Crystal Edition? - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 17th Jan 09 at 5:02am
Who has herd of it?

My friend said he had allot of Windows XP installation CD's (That's where I got Windows XP from) I asked him if he got any more OS's and he said "I have 1 Windows XP Crystal Edition, and 1 Windows 95."

So I asked for them, he gave them to me free {Grin}

Now what sucks is that Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 does not support Win95 {Unsure} so I am probably going to try to see if I can't use that to boot up/re-install my windows 95 machine.

But since I never herd of WinXP Crystal edition, I went to Google to check on it. It looks awesome! {Grin}

So I am currently installing it under Virtual PC {Smile}

When I get it up and running I will show a Screen Shot of it {Grin}

Edit:
The installation is corrupt? {Unsure}

I will have to talk to my friend tomorrow...

edit 2:

It's fine I guess, he said let it go through longer. So now its installing again.

Ok I got it:

it's very different from Windows XP (Normal) and Vista.

I like it somewhat. Has many new cool themes on it! I choose the skin that is showing now. there is an Xbox 360 skin as well.

My friend is part Egyptian, and can read Arabic so some parts (Like the Keyboard) were Arabian's keyboard. I fixed it so now it's in US English, all the way through {Grin}

Really? I did not know that!

Crystal seems to be stable running through a Virtual PC. Its quite fast too. Unlike Windows 7, seems to be a bit slow {Unsure} It needs allot of RAM to actually run, and I only have 2GB of RAM, and it takes up about 654 of RAM, plus with all the other windows I have open.

My normal percentage for my RAM when there is nothing running, besides Vista and a few programs that need to be running, is at 37% with Win7 running it goes all the way up to 89% Which makes both Vista and Win7 severely slow. It also makes my CPU percentage at 100% thus causing windows to fail and crash..
