Is dual booting safe? I'm thinking of doing it, but i dont want to if its not a good idea or im going to run into problems in the future, can someone please get back to me on this?

As long as you have install media for both operating systems handy, it's perfectly safe.

I've never heard anyone say that it isn't safe, but just to be careful with it - as Artemis said, as long as you've got the install media for both OS' and have any important files backed up somewhere should any problems arise then you'll be fine {Smile}

What were you planning on booting with, out of curiosity?

He means having the installation CDs for both opperating systems (and product key in the case of windows). It's so that if anything doesn't work out quite right you can reinstall them and start over.

I've had very few problems dual-booting Ubuntu and Vista Ultimate on my laptop...
Sometime how safe it is depends on what OS's you are dual-booting, how you are dual-booting, or even the hardware/computer manufacturer (quality).

What are you planning on dual-booting?

Dual booting is safe {Smile}

I recently took out Linux because I reformatted my computer but here soon, I will be re-installing Linux in my computer.

go here http://wubi-installer.org its very safe, clean, and uninstalls like any other windows programs.

No paying for it, no need of a key. So far I like it {Smile}

Stormraven, if you're overly worried about dual-booting, you should find an Ubuntu Live Disc.

You simply burn the program onto a CD, and it boots Ubuntu directly from the CD; no computer installation needed. {Smile}
