Newgrounds? - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 18th Nov 08 at 7:31am
Who here like newgrounds?

I like it because if I am bored, I can play, watch or listen to all their flash content {Smile}

Some of it inspires me to make a flash game or a movie, I am trying to make some music to submit to them, but I need to find really good audio software and Audacity freezes my computer {Unsure}

Also I have to ask something.

Ross did you ever help Program NG?

I am asking this because:

"The database and back-end programming are handled by Ross (college friend) and James (long-time NG fan from England)."

{Tongue Out} I know there has to be at least allot of Ross's on this earth, but how many Ross's you know that's a programmer? I only know 1. And that would be you! {Wink}

Ewww. NG... lol. I don't like their stuff to be honest. I find a lot of NG's games quite boring. I prefer Armor Games but that's just me, considering I don't do a lot of flash games, but you know.

That's just my $0.02. If I'm to play a game, I play a Blizzard game to be honest.

I play Armor Games, Crazy Monkey Games and Addicting Games, BUt its all the same, and gets boring after awhile. With NG new things are on everyday.

I never played WoW because I never had enough money ;( I like diablo though.

I never got into Newgrounds that much. They just never caught my interest.

WoW FTL!

I don't see the point in it... same with Final Fantasy XI (11) If you have to pay to play with others online, then its a pointless game to play. I'd rather play the games that let you play with others online free {Smile}

I would go against that. I play on Xbox Live quite a bit and I think that it's worth paying the 50 dollars per year for it.

Re: Newgrounds? - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 23rd Nov 08 at 5:32am
I am not talking about Xbox, I am talking about the computer. (Mainly WoW)

Sure I would not mind playing XBL, and paying for it. Because it will have better graphics. WoW IMO does not have good graphics, maybe for CG scenes but that's about it (If it has CG scenes) But Halo 3 or, Gears of War 3, etc, I would not mind playing with others online, and pay for it. at least I can play more then 1 games live, other then WoW, and that's 1 game that your are paying what $30 a month? to play, when you can play allot more games on the Xbox or PS3 online, and having to pay $15 a month.

Re: Newgrounds? - Posted By Sven (sven) on 23rd Nov 08 at 8:20am
Bahahaha, I'm just going to sit here and laugh at your Darkmage. You base how good a game is on it's graphics? Far out! That's just damn stupid.

World of Warcraft is such a good game because there is 11million people playing it. It allows for a lot of team work and interacting with A LOT of other people. Not only that, but the storyline for Warcraft is quite intense, if you read and follow the lore (which the majority of the people know the rough storyline). But when you actually play it, it's never really boring. I mean, I've played it for 4 years now (it's 4th anniversary is today) and the development team keep things interesting. No one has ever finished the game and because it's so large, the person who is closest to it is like omg praised.

Not only that, but because of it's intensity it becomes highly addicting, I'll emphasize the point. NO ONE has finished world of warcraft, however, even a casual player of a game like Fallout 3 (which I might add is completely awsome) can finish it in about 3 days! That's why people pay $15USD a month to play the game. Because it's a lot of fun!

Graphics are not very important. But it matters how good the graphics are for how good the game is. Graphics is about 1/4 of the game. I know I hate games and video's that the mouth doesn't even go with the words. I hate it when there is a big blob on my screen because the graphics suck. Really after you think of it WoW probably has good grahpics.

We take everything for granted. If you have ever tried to make 3d characters you will know how long it takes and how precise you have to be. Just one flaw can mess everything up. There are good 3D creators and there are great ones. I still think the nintendo has better graphics then I can ever hope to make.

If I see the character and his mouth isn't moving that far outta turn I'm happy with the graphics. Hey just to see a 3d character thats a 3/10 for me.

Re: Newgrounds? - Posted By Sven (sven) on 25th Nov 08 at 6:20am
I agree with graphics making about 1/4 of a game, but to base an entire opinion off them is horrible. I do agree that Nintendo's graphics are amazing and WoW's graphics are very mediocre (they were awsome when the game was originally released in November 2004).

Re: Newgrounds? - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 26th Nov 08 at 2:59am
My Rating system on a game would be:

Graphics - If its not appealing to me, then I won't play it. (This does not include Flash games)

Game play - I have to have some type of interest in it, in order to actually like it, if at first I don't like it, but still play it, and the middle of it gets interesting then I will like it.

Hours - Now a Game has to take me days to complete, I want to play it for a long time. Like Crysis Warhead, that game took me 2 days to complete (game time 47 minutes) Now that's to short.

Fun - It has to be fun, it can't be boring what so ever.

Rating - It has to be rated T - M in order for me to like it. E at times is alright, but that is usually for kids, there is no violence, nor language in it. So I don't like it as much.
