I have a project for you all to take up. Please only take a step at a time. :].
Step One: What were your last several search terms you used in a major search engine?
Do not proceed unless you know a few.
Step Two: Go to http://www.cuil.com
Step Three: Enter the first search word, compare the results.
Repeat Step Three And so on...
Step Four: Now what are your impressions, write a reply. =P.
My first thought when I visited Cuil, it was just another search engine that uses the big search engines. But the first time I tried it out, I was proved wrong. Dynamic displays of information, the integration of features I never thought a search engine would use. Quick loading, amazing results. Some of my first searches were tests of things that other search engine providers had ranked exactly the same way, but Cuil did different, it led me to sites that were a lot more relevant to that search term.
I'm amazed. Very, extremely amazed by this upcoming search engine. Hello next major search engine! o_o.
Wow... it's exactly the same as google?
I typed in Socialism, which was my modern history project... guess what came up first? Wikipedia!
Gah, Wikipedia is good, sure, but there isn't anything useful other than background reading tbh. Cuil looks different, but altogether, to me, is the same as google.
+ google offers you imagesCuil doesn't (so far)
I am actually wondering if Cuil is deploying the Reader Software to read text on images (yup...it's finally out, and they're brilliant, Google said their own Capatcha was broke by it). Cuil is having a problem with about 10% of my searches but what I'm realizing is that they are much more relevant.Wow... it's exactly the same as google?
