Having a kid for...the cells. - Posted By ashkir (ashkir) on 24th May 08 at 9:23am
I suggest you have an open mind before you continue reading this topic. If you do not have an open mind please navigate away from this thread. Thanks. :].
First of all look at this video, from CNN; Click to view.
Now think about it for a few moments. I want to ask you your opinion on the issue. Are you okay with a couple having a child to only save another child? The fact that the parents love both of the children? As stated in the clip; two children that are loved is better then one.
But; how would you like all of a sudden to find out your parents only had you for stem cells to save another kid? I don't think I'd take it heavily, just wish I would've known it sooner.
I am in support of stem cell research; but there will become a point in time where we may have to draw a line on it in the United States. We're primer researchers into Stem Cell research; and I hope other countries do step up to that. In my biology class in high school it was all about genetics and stem cell research; believe it or not; I feel it is becoming a major part of our lives.
In the future can we expect more cases of children being born for Stem Cell research or the cells to save another child? Do you think the state should allow it or not?
