I'm hoping you mean 2 or 3 gigs of RAM, cause if you paid $600 for a 3 gig computer then you really got ripped off. {Tongue Out}

I was gunna make a topic on the laptop I just ordered D: Sounds like a nice cheap laptop.

The one I just ordered is a Dell Inspiron 1720.

Specs:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750(2.0GHz, 667Mhz, 2M L2 Cache)
Ram: 4GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm
Screen: Anti-glare, widescreen 17.0 inch display (1440 x 900) - I didn't know what Anti-glare meant so I went with what the factory default was and that's what it was.
Hard drive: 250G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium

Price: I think with everything added up it was like $1,300 or so, but I did monthly payments so about 35$/Month {Cheesy}

Doesn't arrive for like 2 weeks though {Sad}

Tricky, I never thought you'd sink to Intel. {Sad} {Tongue Out}

I see this has turned into people posting their specs, so here's mine:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core TK-53 1.70 GHz
RAM: 1GB
Screen: Widescreen 19 inch Anti-Glare
Hard Drive: 150GB
Graphics: nVidia GeoForce 256mb Dedicated
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium with Ubuntu dualboot option
Windows Experience: 3.9 out of 5.0 [need to download gfx card updates. {Tongue Out} ]

Re: W00! - Posted By tricky.cb (crazyblue) on 16th Apr 08 at 11:52pm
It comes with Intel. What is an anti glare screen by the way? Mine has that but I've heard that glossy is better.

Glossy (from what I hear) is better for graphics and images and things like that, but if there's much ambient light (like the sun or bright over-head lights), it tends to glare or something.

I have (and always have had) matte (non-glossy), and so far, it's worked out.

I know Marc loves my computer {Tongue Out}

MacBook Pro
Screen: 15" Matte
Processor: 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
RAM: 2GB DDR
Hard Drive: 120GB
Graphics: nVidia 128MB GeForce 8600M GT
OS: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard (a.k.a. Vista++ {Tongue Out} )

Yes I meant RAM, and {Sad} why hasn't any one said congratulations or something, and I mentioned my Birthday too, But you can wait til I turn 18 on Monday April 21, 2008 and make a post then {Cheesy} . Ive been waiting 6 years for a laptop, and my Dream and wishes are coming true. Even though it took 6 years {Tongue Out} .

Mac AND Intel?!? {Shocked}

*Resists urge to ban* {Tongue Out}

As for Glossy/Matte, turns out mine can switch [as I figured out not too long ago while messing around in the nVidia Control Panel]. Currently I'm using glossy, but matte doesn't look much different; just less...shiny. {Tongue Out}

Oh, and congrats darkmage. {Tongue Out} Smiley

Hmm, that's a little weird. I ordered the Dell Inspiron 1720 with some higher stuff than what yours has and it only cost about $100 more but with a 200$ discount it was like $1,100 or so.

Very nice! You won't be dissappointed. I had to wait a good while to get my computer (not quite 6 years, though), and it is definitely worth the wait.

And happy birthday!

Re: W00! - Posted By tricky.cb (crazyblue) on 18th Apr 08 at 2:56am
@ Darkmage: That's a really nice laptop for the price. Somewhat close to mine in performance with RAM, and Processor, but mine has other things that I did add on. Boosted wireless internet, it's got a 17'' screen, etc.

Re: W00! - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 19th Apr 08 at 4:36am
My friend told me not to go to walmart, he says all walmart computers suck, but computers are computers. I am going to walmart, I really don't care what he thinks, its not his money, nor he does not work very hard to get what little money he has. His family is rich, he is spoiled, he gets laptops every day, 3 new phones every year which are well over $500+, new ipods, new clothes which costs him 100+ and eats out every night at big ritzy restaurants.

Congrats! I have a Compaq computer, and I must say, I haven't had any problems with that brand.

Still, I'd like to get a laptop for when I go on trips to places. It'd really be helpfull.

Thanks, Yeh thats why I want a laptop, I can take it to school or when ever I go to my friends house, and get on and have my personal settings instead of School computer settings, or not getting on at all when at friends house, at home the computer I am on is my moms. So Its time to break away from this old desktop, and go to a laptop {Cheesy}

I hear ya. I'm thinking about getting a laptop myself.

The school computers block all the sites that I use.

Now I just have to be sure to raise some money. {Grin}

Re: W00! - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 19th Apr 08 at 5:05am
The only thing that will suck is that if your laptop has wireless (Duh, lol) it will be on your schools network, which then your sites will still be blocked. If you get an ibook (apple) They have this card its called an "Airport card" Its for apple computers only (I believe). But the signal goes up into a satelite dish in space. And you will be able to get on Myspace, game sites, etc. without even using proxies which are really stupid. and if you get caught (well at my school) 3 day suspension, and ISS for 1 day, And if you were like my friend, made a list of all unblocked proxies and selling them, you get Kicked out of school til next year.

Re: W00! - Posted By tricky.cb (crazyblue) on 19th Apr 08 at 3:18pm
He's just saying that because rich people usually spend more money if possible {Tongue Out}

Walmart is a fine place to buy a computer, nothing wrong with that. They didn't make the computer, they bought it and put it on their shelves.

Re: W00! - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 19th Apr 08 at 3:21pm
Yep I know that ^_^

and Thats what I told him. But then he said if your computer breaks, then you are SOL, and I told him about the 2 year warranty that walmart uses. He said that the warranty is crappy, He told me to go to Radio Shack if I want a decent computer, or even staples. I said both places are expensive. {Tongue Out}
