Registry Problems? - Posted By lordotaku (lordotaku) on 19th Mar 08 at 6:00pm
My computer seems to be running slower these days, and I keep getting I/O error windows when I shut down, as well as a referenced memory could not be read error at random times. I was thinking this might be a problem with my registry so I have been searching the internet for free software to fix the problem.
I was wondering, does anyone know anything about Advanced WindowsCare Personal?
Or is there another program you would recommend?

I would go with WindowsCare; it's your best bet. {Wink}

I was leaning towards that, but as I continued to do more research, I have found that a lot of people say registry cleaners are bad and are more likely to cause more problems than solve.
I am utterly confused now as I have read conflicting articles.
Are registry cleaners good or bad? {Confused}

Depends on the one you use. I've used Advanced WindowsCare in the past, and it's provided adequate results. {Smile}

It never deleted something that was needed in your registry, or cause an application to malfunction, or mess with the system start up? (These are what some of the articles said registry cleaners have done.) {Confused}

If not, I think I'll give WindowsCare a go then, but I'll back up my files first.

Nothing more than having to reset some options. {Wink}
