Well, what is it that helps to draw you to a forum? Is it the fact that they have an absolutely amazing skin? Or is it simply down to the fact that their community is amazingly active...?
Also, do you feel that a premade skin is better than the default skin as to getting members to your forum?
For me, I think it's the activity on a forum, also the design has something to do with it. Having a horrible skin would instantly stop me returning to the forum, and also, a premade on a design forum would stop me returning as I wouldn't have any respect for the forum as they aren't capable of creating their own skin.
Well yeah a design , but activity. Design would put me off a awful lot if it was just plain.
I always view forums, just to see wat they are about.
I'm attracted to graphic forums, forum that have support sections, and RP forums. or if a friend ask me to join.

That actually depends on the type of forum.
Mainly creativity. Some of the forums I visit regularly are G101, webAddict, State of Sound, and here.
Not all these forums are great on activity, really only 2 are; State of Sound and here. It's just the other 2 are different from the others.
Also the design. I don't join forums that are blank or hurt my eyes to look at.
Well for me it is the design, I dont want to be active on something that is ugly do i? Also the activity, I want it to be 'alive'
The first thing I look for in a forum is a topic I'm interested about such as gaming, and that the staff on the forums are active.![]()
I like a great skin, but as long as the skin doesn't hurt my eyes and I can read the threads, it's not that big of a deal to me.
If the design is stunning (like mAs) I will most likely join the forum and proably try to learn how they did it. If's it a premade, ugly design or dead forum i wont join it at all.![]()
It's largely the community. The only forums i'm really active on are here, Vegetable Revolution and Outside The Wall - all have one of the best communities i've come across and they're fun places to be. The aesthetic side is a factor too, but as long as the skin isn't really garish i can live with it.
