Website VS Forum - Posted By Tim (grievous) on 8th Mar 08 at 9:29pm
I don't have the coding smarts to actually make my own site from scratch, so I'm saying forums.

Mainly because I like Goign on there Support sites and helping.

Maybe when I get better with HTML i'll try and make my own (Web)Site.

I'm not going to vote, because you got a homophonic mistake in the poll. I don't like homophone mistakes.

They're not there ><

(but they're both equal in my opinion)

they are both equal and when done right they work really well together {Smile}

I don't like these polls. They're all situation based. {Tongue Out}

Some things need a website, others need a forum, most need both. {Wink}

Forums you edit, websites you create. {Smile}

Or me. {Tongue Out}

While VF is a great service, for my site I still use hand-coded software. That way I can get it all perfectly the way I want it, and can integrate it far more than any service. {Wink}

Oh, and I get money off the ads on mine. {Tongue Out}

Not really; I've had AdSense up for about 4 months and have only made about $2. {Tongue Out}

Do you have to pay for AdSense?

Re: Website VS Forum - Posted By blanka (blanka) on 9th Mar 08 at 2:33am
It really depends on what you are after. {Wink}

But i rather have a website than a forum. {Tongue Out}

Re: Website VS Forum - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 9th Mar 08 at 2:38am
Like VF, does Ross have to pay for it?

Re: Website VS Forum - Posted By Marc (cr0w) on 9th Mar 08 at 2:42am
AdSense is free, but the account holder must be 18+.

Re: Website VS Forum - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 9th Mar 08 at 4:12am
ok cool, and next month on the 21 I will be 18 ^_^ and plus did you notice My golden B-day is 21, the legal age in the U.S. {Wink}

But I don't drink, smoke etc. but thats getting off topic.

But a forum is a website. It's not something different. By the definition of a forum I used, it was scripting on an already made forum. {Tongue Out}

On the whole AdSense topic in this I have credits for AdSense that came in a package when I bought my web hosting. I also got Microsoft ads, I just have to enter in credit info and its all paid for.

I'd say both. Websites back up forums, and forums back up websites.
