Pretty stupid, I'd agree, but if guns weren't so easily available he wouldn't have had the idea in the first place... Although his friend actually doing it says something about them, can anyone say "blind leading the blind".
Aren't there better ways to skipping work.. like not showing up? Just call in while holding your nose and say your too sick. No need to have a bullet put into your arm.

But, on-topic, I thought for this particular event it was rather silly. Unless he's some hardcore gang boss that eats bullets for breakfast. Then he's just resourceful.
