The Raynes is a local band that quite recently made it pretty big. They're known over most of Canada, and a bit in America; not sure about other places.

I'm just wondering if they've made it as far as where you are, yet? What do you think of them?

This leads me on to the main point of my post; are there any local bands/groups/singers where you are who are making it into the big-times? Do you know any of them personally? Has their rising status made a difference in their personalities?

As i work for a local record label, Criminal Recordz i keep an ear close to the ground when it comes to local bands. One band, which is signed to the label is Revolution74, one of the biggest bands on the south coast. I know the drummer and the bassist well. I also have close personal friends in other local bands (Mask Of Judas, Just). One local band, The Model Village will be supporting The Subways at a local gig soon which is big news for both them and the label, as they are also signed to us

I don't think the "fame", or whatever it is has changed any of them, the local musis scene is quite close knit and there's not much ego floating about which i've found in a lot of places - i have contacts in the Nottingham scene and that's the complete opposite.

I know a guy who's in a band (With wings of lead) and they traveled last year to like new york, from michigan. This year I think they may have a record deal or something.
