Never having needed to test the mail() function from my localhost, I never bothered learning how to use the Mercury program that comes with Xampp.

So, my main question...how do I go about getting Mercury to send to external email addresses? It searches the HOSTS file [which only contains maybe 5 entries], can't find the "hotmail.com" server, and stops there.
