Simultaneous Projects - Posted By Ross (admin) on 21st Apr 08 at 6:05pm
I know some people like to do one project at a time and won't start a second project until the first is finished. Whereas others are happy to jump between various projects at various stages of development. Which (if either) do you prefer to do?

I prefer to be able to jump between multiple features/projects/sites to add in a bit of variety. Take today as an example. I spent most the day working on an almost finished website testing SEO bits, fixing bugs and putting the site "live". But when I was a bit bored of doing that I spent some time building the basis of a shopping cart which is in the very early stages of development. And now, I've just been doing some work on a new feature which I started last week.

For the most part, I like to work on multiple projects. Usually, if I'm in the early stages of developing something, I'll work on it exclusively until I get it to where I don't have to remember much about how it works any more {Tongue Out} When I'm just adding features or what-not, then I'll jump around. If I work on the same thing for too long, I get bored.

If I If I didn't work on projects simultaneously, I'd never get anything finished! {Tongue Out}

I tend to procrastinate a lot, so as little as that helps, I also get bored of things quickly. Thus, I need a few projects going at a time so that when I get bored of one I can continue on the another. {Wink}

At the moment I have at least 5 large projects I'm working on, as well as numerous smaller ones.
