Registration System Accessibility - Posted By Ross (admin) on 23rd Jun 08 at 11:20am
The confirmation code when registering uses a captcha image where users have to type the letters they see. This is a method of preventing bots from registering and spamming on your forum; the idea being that bots cannot properly read what the image says. However from time to time users may have difficulty reading this image too which is why we've added an alternative method of confirmation. This new method allows users to listen to or download an mp3 file which tells them the confirmation code.
To use, the user just needs to click on the captcha image. They'll then be prompted to play the file or download it. The file speaks each letter or number allowing the user to type it in.
Oh, and before anyone asks, I'm afraid it's not me who reads out the letters.

If it's not you reading them out, then who is it?

This is cool thanks Ross
.
Yeah that does happen to me on some of the confirmation code. So having an prompted to play a file that speaks each letter or number is great

Wow. I have a hard time reading these numbers sometimes because of certain backgrounds make it hard to read or some letters look a like at times. I tried the sound confirmation for my first time and I'm impressed very slow, very clear and very detailed. =D
