As I'm sure many of you are aware our server has been having a number of difficulties over the past couple of days but most noticeably tonight where I have encountered 3 separate downtimes, the longest of which seemed to be for 2 hours. I've spoken to our hosting company however so far they've been unable to find the cause of this issue, although they will continue to try and find and fix it.

I am now in the process of having a brand new server setup which all forums will be transferred to. Unfortunately I cannot give an ETA for this new server but I will be aiming to ensure that full functionality is restored before the start of the bank holiday weekend. But I cannot make any promises on that.

I apologise for any and all inconvenience this downtime may have caused. I will keep you updated here with any additional information. If anyone has any questions then please ask and I will do my best to respond.

To keep you updated, I'm now in the process of transferring a couple of services to the new server. Presuming these go OK then I will transfer the support forum as a full test of the new server.

Since this server seems to be coping OK it's unlikely that the bulk of forums will be transferred before next week. This is because they will perform badly during the transfer and as such I want to do it when the service is relatively quiet. I'm going to try and ensure that none are actually offline during this time.

If its easier with the forums offline Ross i have no problems with that .

Gah I wish I would have known this earlier. I was posting and lost a few words, but its ok, I still have it in mind.

My apologies for not being able to give advanced notice. I was planning on just completing the data transfer for support but in doing so it stopped support working entirely leaving little choice but to push ahead with transferring all forums. So far 1/3 of forums have been transferred.

Only 1 forum has been completed and that Mage Designs.

Edit: ok both my forums are now running

All forums have now completed the move to our new server. I'd like to apologise for the level of downtime during this server transfer, it was much longer than I had anticipated.

I could say it was due to the new server not behaving in the same way as the test server did when I tried it out on there. But as I'm sure nobody wants to hear any excuses I will say that all forums will receive 10,000 ad-free page views for free by ways of an apology.

well i could careless about the ad-free credits, but thankt for getting it fixed.
